I just got a Mondeo and needed to change the battery in the spare key fob. I found that a pair of flat tipped long nose pliers inserted perpendicular to the opening hole then having the jaws spread open did the trick without the twisting motion that burrs the opening hole.

Over the past 2 weeks the flip out key has been getting less and less effective, it started with not getting all the way out, or not being able to close it past halfway, but now it doesn't do anything at all when the button is pressed and I have to physically flip it out myself.
